It is still a mystery as to what exactly will the proposed barge of Google house. Will it function as a floating showroom showcasing the primary products of Google? Will it be a private showroom for high-end clients? Will it be a vessel floating across different ports and acting as an interactive technology domain for the general public?
The questions still remain unanswered however the latest development is that this mystery barge is on the move. This barge was currently stationed at Treasure Island – a man-made landmass near San Francisco – and will be moving to the Port of Stockton.
The reason behind the movement is said to be a regulatory order issued on Jan 31. According to this order, Google does not have building permits on Treasure Island.
According to the Treasure Island Development Authority, the date on which the barge will have to leave port is March 7.
The current situation is such that neither Google nor the Port-of-Stockton are not available for comment.
